Actor Bio’s

Jason S. Lakes

ROLE: Shrek
Jason is a native of Franklin, Ohio, and is excited and honored to be making his La Comedia debut. A veteran of several regional and local theatre companies, his credits include George Banks in Mary Poppins, Samuel Byck in Assassins, Beast in Beauty and the Beast, Phantom in The Phantom, Geppetto in My Son Pinocchio: Geppetto’s Musical Tale, and Saint Aphrodisius/Father Dupin in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. This is the first time Jason has reprised a role, having previously portrayed Shrek in the Rotary Presents 2016 production. He is grateful for the support of family and friends, and he encourages you to support the arts in all levels of education. YIH

Lucy Bobbin

ROLE: Fiona
Lucy is a graduate from Rider University with a B.F.A. in musical theatre. Previous credits include Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Betty Blake in Will Rogers Follies, Clytemnestra in These Seven Sicknesses, Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Wednesday in The Addams Family, and Judy Bernly in 9 to 5. Many thanks to the production team and cast for such an amazing show.

James Major Burns

ROLE: Donkey
James is from Youngstown, Ohio, and is making his La Comedia debut. Previous credits include the national tour of Rocktopia, Nicely Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls, The Rum Tum Tugger in Cats, Scarecrow in The Wiz, Richie in A Chorus Line, Seaweed J. Stubbs in Hairspray, Jimmy Thunder Early in Dreamgirls, Sebastian in The Little Mermaid, and Donkey in Shrek. He has also been seen in the Netflix series Mindhunters. He dedicates his performance to his fiancé Trevail Maurice.

Cory Candelet

ROLE: Lord Farquaad
Cory is from Mystic, Connecticut, and now lives in New York City. A graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, he is making his La Comedia debut. Previous credits include Don in A Chorus Line, Ren in Footloose, Eugene in Grease, Orville Wright in The Wright Brothers, and The Mute in The Fantasticks (CT Critics Circle Award).

Tommy Cole

ROLE: Pinocchio/Ensemble
Tommy is currently studying musical theatre at Wright State University and is excited to be making his La Comedia debut. Previous roles include Barnaby in Hello Dolly!, Brad in Hairspray with Muse Machine, and Dickon in The Secret Garden with Epiphany Players.

Jarrett Crowthers

ROLE: Peter Pan/Ensemble
Jarrett is currently studying musical theatre at Ball State University and is making his La Comedia debut. Previous credits include Oliver in Oliver, Claude in Worst Christmas Pageant Ever, Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, Kurt in The Sound of Music, and ensemble roles in Footloose and Bring it On!

Sydney Fowler

ROLE: Mad Hatter/Ensemble
Sydney currently attends Miami University where she recently appeared as Lenora in Cry-Baby. Other credits include Serena in Legally Blonde and West Side Story. Sydney has won two Daytony Awards for her portrayal of Erma in Anything Goes, and Alice in The Addams Family.

Brooke Hardin

ROLE: Baby Bear/Ensemble
Brooke currently studies musical theatre and dance at Northern Kentucky University. She returns to the La Comedia stage after appearing in Mamma Mia!, A Christmas Story, and Miracle on 34th Street. Other credits include Miss Hannigan in Annie, Morticia Addams in The Addams Family, Belle in Beauty and the Beast, and the Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz. She also portrayed Figment in the world premiere of Fast Young Beautiful at NKU.

Zac Holman

ROLE: Sticks Pig/Ensemble
Zac is a recent graduate of Northern Kentucky University with a B.F.A. in musical theatre, and he is making his La Comedia debut. He has worked throughout Kentucky and Ohio as a performer and choreographer. Most recently, Zac was in 42nd Street, Oklahoma!, and A Few Good Men with Cincinnati Landmark Productions. He also worked with Stage Right (Williamstown, KY), Kentucky Shakespeare (Louisville), Kings Island, Pones Inc. (Cincinnati), Cincy Fringe Festival, and Kentucky Kingdom.

Felicity Jemo

ROLE: Humpty Dumpty/Ensemble
Felicity is overjoyed to be making her La Comedia debut. She is a musical theatre major at Kent State University where she was last seen in The Mystery of Edwin Drood and Children of Eden. Other credits include Purity in Anything Goes and Oklahoma! at Porthouse Theatre, Mona in Chicago, Serena in Legally Blonde, and Urinetown. “Unending gratitude for my amazing cast mates, friends and family for all the support and love. Bridget Lorenz

ROLE: Mama Bear/Ensemble
Bridget is making her La Comedia debut and is currently studying musical theatre at Wright State University. Some of her recent credits are A Little Night Music, Crazy For You and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Bridget wants to thank her friends and family for their constant support and the Shrek team for this incredible opportunity. Enjoy the show!

Aaron Marshall

ROLE: Straw Pig/Ensemble
Aaron is a recent graduate of Northern Kentucky University with a B.F.A. in musical theatre and he is making his debut at La Comedia. He appeared in 11 productions at NKU including Into the Woods, Thoroughly Modern Millie, All Shook Up, Beauty and the Beast, Grapes of Wrath, Songs for a New World, and Cabaret. He has also been in a number of regional theatre productions such as Grease, Hairspray, The Producers, Rock of Ages, and A Christmas Carol.

Ruthie Osowski

ROLE: Shoemaker’s Elf/Ensemble
Ruthie was the recipient of the Muse Machine Moses Hogan and Mary Kate Tews Scholarship and will begin studying musical theatre and dance at Ohio Northern University this fall. Previous credits include Hairspray with Muse Machine, Big Fish the Musical with the Epiphany Players, and Shelby in Steel Magnolias, and Kitty in The Drowsy Chaperone with the Alter Castle Players. Ruthie is excited to be making her La Comedia debut.

Nasir Peterson

ROLE: Papa Bear/Ensemble
Nasir is currently studying theatre at Wright State University and is making his La Comedia debut. He is from Augusta, Georgia, where he has appeared in productions of Thoroughly Modern Millie, Legally Blonde, The Wizard of Oz, A Christmas Carol, and Shrek with the Augusta Players. He has also performed in several productions with the Beavercreek Community Theatre, Dayton Playhouse, South Dayton Dance Company, and many other performing arts organizations.

Thomas Smith

ROLE: Bricks Pig/Ensemble
Thomas is currently studying musical theatre at Northern Kentucky University where he has been seen in productions of The Black Boy in Pink, Dance ’19, Secret in the Wings. Other credits include Once Upon a Mattress, Common Ground, Bye Bye Birdie, The Little Mermaid, and Grease.

David Thomas

ROLE: Big Bad Wolf/Ensemble
David returns to our stage after most recently appearing as Napthali in Joseph…Dreamcoat and Ralph Sheldrake in White Christmas. He has also been seen here as Mr. Boddy in Clue: The Musical, Timeless Memories of Christmas, Mamma Mia!, Beauty and the Beast, Sister Act, A Christmas Carol, as Flotsam in The Little Mermaid, South Pacific, as Mara in Miracle on 34th Street, La Comedia’s Holiday Celebration, Peter Pan and as Marty in It’s a Wonderful Life. Other credits include Lancelot in Camelot, Caveman in The Addams Family, The Sound of Music, Children of Eden, Guys and Dolls, The Man Who Came to Dinner, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Moon Over Buffalo, and The Wedding Singer.

Sarah Vieira

ROLE: Dragon/Mama Ogre/Wicked Witch
Sarah is a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy where she was seen in the AMDA Cabaret, Let’s Broadway Cabaret, Showcase: Enter, and Cafe Series. She also performed in the Leonard Bernstein Centennial Festival in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Sarah is excited to be making her La Comedia debut.

Mary Vosseberg

ROLE: Fairy Godmother/Gingy/Ensemble
Mary has performed all over the Tri-State area and is excited to be making her La Comedia debut. Past credits include The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, The Wedding Singer, Seussical, Shrek, The Little Mermaid, Into the Woods, American Idiot, Side Show, and All Shook Up. Mary also received an Orchid Award for Excellence in a Musical Theatre performance for her portrayal of Violet Newstead in 9 to 5 with the Loveland Stage Company.
