Backstage Assistant

LaComedia Dinner Theatre in Springboro, Ohio is seeking a Backstage Assistant to join our team at the end of May.

A year-round position with matinee and evening performances, Thursday-Sunday (Wednesday performances in November & December). 

The position averages 35 hours/week with additional hours in tech rehearsals.

La Comedia Dinner Theatre, a year-round theatre in Springboro, Ohio, has an immediate opening in the Scene Shop for scenic carpenter. Position is 40 hours per week, year round. Some second/third shift work required for changeovers. Carpenters will: – Build and assemble sets for all productions including load-in and strike – Be able to read and build from plans – Safely use all power tools necessary for construction. – Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. Costume Coordinator

La Comedia Dinner Theatre in Springboro, OH, is seeking a Costume Coordinator & Seamstress to join our team. La Comedia is a 600-seat, non-Union house operating year-round for 47 years. The theatre produces 6-7 mainstage and 2-3 children’s theatre productions each year. On most shows, Costume Coordinators are responsible for pulling/altering costumes from stock (some patterning/costume construction required), and fitting costumes to cast members during the rehearsal period. During the run of shows, Costumers are responsible for twice-weekly laundry and costume maintenance and repairs as needed. Full time hours during rehearsal/tech weeks alternating with periods of part-time hours. Costume Coordinator should have excellent sewing skills and be capable of working alone or in a small team to complete projects. Knowledge of costume history, construction, and pattern-making a plus.
